Financial support for projects and events by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in 2010

The core objective of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands is to maintain, strengthen and broaden ties between the Netherlands and Slovenia in all their diversity. To this end there is a limited amount of financial funds available for a number of projects or events. The Embassy aims to have the greatest impact with its scarce resources and is seeking enthusiastic Slovenian partners to co-operate with.

In general, the Embassy aims to co-sponsor projects or events. The projects can last from one day up to a whole year. The Embassy is also interested in reaching out to regions across Slovenia. Projects should preferably be sustainable, visible and have a measurable impact. Proposals should be presented in time, at least two months prior to the start of the project.

• In the cultural field the Embassy is interested in projects or events in the field of music, literature, architecture, design, fashion, dance and the visual arts.  And of course, there has to be a clear link with the Netherlands.
• In the field of institution building the Embassy identified the following priorities: strengthening the rule of law, combating environmental degradation, supporting marginal groups and  strengthening civil society.
• In the field of human rights the Embassy is interested to support activities,  which could strengthen the rights of  Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual people and Transsexuals (GLBT), women’s rights and children’s rights.

Applications should be written in English. The application form to be used can be sent upon request. The Embassy will only process applications which meet the following requirements:

- a clear description of planned objectives, impact, sustainability and duration of the project (the duration of a project may not exceed the period of one year);
- a detailed and itemised budget;
- all relevant contact details: address, e-mail and phone/mobile number.
- description of the applying organization (with legal status);
- cv's of experts, trainers, moderators, speakers etc.;
- where possible pro-forma invoices; and
- a bank account number of the applicant.
